Get SQL Server Information

  1. Sign In to the AWS Management Console and open the Amazon EC2 console at https://console.aws.amazon.com/ec2/
  2. Choose the Region on the upper-right hand side, where the SQL Server EC2 Instance resides

  3. On the left navigation pane, go to Instances and select the EC2 Instances (for this demo, the Name Tags should have the EC2SQL1 and EC2SQL2 suffix)

  4. Since the SQL Server instances are not configured to be accessible publicly (they are in a private subnet), we will be using the Jumpserver to interact with them using their Windows DNS Hostnames:

    • EC2SQL1 DNS Hostname & Static IP Addresses:
      • EC2SQL1 - Use this to connect using the jumpserver
      • 10.150.10.100 - Primary IP
      • 10.150.10.101 - Cluster Virtual IP (Used during cluster setup)
      • 10.150.10.102 - AlwaysON Listener IP (Only one provisioned for this demo)
    • EC2SQL2 DNS Hostname & Static IP Addresses:
      • EC2SQL2 - Use this to connect using the jumpserver
      • 10.150.15.100 - Primary IP
      • 10.150.15.101 - Cluster Virtual IP (Used during cluster setup)
      • 10.150.15.102 - AlwaysON Listener IP (Only one provisioned for this demo)
